Global tourism and hospitality

According to the World Tourism Organization, tourism is traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes. Tourism has established a vital part of the economy of many countries. Tourism include transportation services, hospitality services, and entertainment venues.

During last five decades, global tourism has grown rapidly. Today, tourism has become a major source of employments in developed countries. Regardless of the great importance on global tourism as a worldwide leading economic sector, tourism mostly rests as a social action which has been naturally linked with frequent positive and negative impacts.  Tourism gives good impact to economic growth for the local people and accelerates the infrastructure development.  Nevertheless, another impacts should be considered regarding to the higher exposure of tourist activity in creating sustainable tourism, especially related to the stability of environmental system.  One of possible solution for the imbalance of tourist distribution is effective and unaggressive promotion activity for the alternative tourism destinations.

Hospitality is getting and treating guests in a warm, friendly, generous manner and it is very important for the repetition of guest or customer. In the tourism industry, travelers are not just satisfied with the facilities or price offered by the certain destination but also looking at the services they offered. If those tourists felt satisfied with the hospitality which offered by the   certain destination, they might visit again and they will promote favorable word of mouth to other friends and colleagues by themselves. So the hospitality will generate the benefits and values to tourism destinations and tourism related companies must emphasize on hospitality in order to success because excellent hospitable services will make customer satisfied.
